2008-2009 Season

June 5, 2009:

• Susan Killeavy and Michela Garrison earn Honorable Mention All-American Honors for their play at Westwood.

• Olivia Hoang, Megan Piechowski, Emily Alvarado, Michela Garrison, and Sarah Mann have been named Academic All-Americans for the 2008-2009 season.

May 13, 2009:

• JV are District Champions! Westwood 11 - Austin 5.

May 12, 2009:

• JV wins play-off game against Georgetown 8-4. Will face winner of the Austin/Westlake match, tomorrow May 13 at 7:00 P.M. at the Noack Sports Complex

April 23, 2009:

• JV finished the regular season strong with a win over Austin 14-7

April 22, 2009:

• As the team completed a very successful season, with Varsity in first place and JV in second place before going to the play-offs, congratulations go out to the following players who have received State and District recognition:

  • All-State (the top 12 players in the Central District based on position)

April 21, 2009:

• District Playoffs: Cedar Park came from behind to win a hard-fought District Semi-Finals by 1. Final score Varsity 14, Cedar Park 15.

• JV make-up game against Austin is on Thursday, April 23rd at 6:30 pm, at Austin High School

April 18, 2009:

• The games against Austin High School have been cancelled due to unplayable field conditions at Austin High School. The Varsity game will not be re-scheduled. That means Westwood finishes the season with the #1 ranking in the district, playing in the District Semi-Finals on Tuesday April 21st against Cedar Park. Congratulations!!!!

• The JV game will be re-scheduled to a later date.

April 16, 2009:

• After an impressive win against St. Andrew on April 14, the Lady Warriors Varsity Team defeats Cedar Park in a hard fought game to move to first place in District Standings.

• Sunday March 8th Varsity game is at 1pm and JV game is at 3pm.

• Westwood moves up one spot to #9 in West Side Lacrosse Texas Girls Top 10

• Westwood is ranked second behind Hockaday in Lax Power Texas High School Computer Rating

• Susan Killeavy Leads Westwood Past Westlake, 12-7

• JV tops Westlake 8-4

• Lady Warriors improve their record to 4-0 with a win at home against Bowie 16-10

• The JV team bounces back from a loss last week by defeating Georgetown 10-4

Feb 17, 2009:

• Westwood Edges Cedar Park in 29-Goal Thriller

• Cedar Park hands JV season's first loss 8-9

Feb 5, 2009:

• Westwood Tops LBJ for Second Straight Win 12-5

• JV defeats LBJ 7-3

Feb 2, 2009:

• Westwood HS Wins Central Texas Season Opener

• Susan Killeavy Leads Westwood Past McNeil, 20-7

• The JV Team is also victorious over McNeil. Final score: 9-3

Warriors Made West Side Lacrosse Pre-Season Texas Top 10

Susan Killeavy commits to Belmont Abbey
Susan Killeavy, a Senior Westwood Women's Varsity Lacrosse player signed an Early Letter of Intent in November to play NCAA Division II Lacrosse for Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. Susan is the very first women's lacrosse player from the Westwood team ever to be recruited by an NCAA level team.
